Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar urges ministries and the public works department to improve the speed and effectiveness of project delivery.

PUTRAJAYA: The performance of government development projects in 2025 remains unsatisfactory and requires further improvement, chief secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said today.

He said that out of a revised total allocation of RM85.87 billion for 9,524 projects, RM64.03 billion had been spent, representing a national average of 74.56%.

“Only 16 ministries managed to exceed the national average, meaning 11 ministries have yet to reach that level,” he said at the National Development Symposium and Awards here.
