PETALING JAYA: The Attorney-General’s Chambers has rejected a representation by a 17-year-old boy seeking a review of the charges against him over a car crash that claimed three lives in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan in March.
Harian Metro reported that deputy public prosecutor P Rubini informed magistrate Saiful Sayoti of the matter today when the case was mentioned again in the Seremban magistrates&#8217; court.
The teenager arrived at the court today dressed in black and in a wheelchair, accompanied by his family and relatives.
He is accused of causing the deaths of Aidil Ramdan Abdullah, 15, Aswari Lotpi, 16, and Aisar Azim Abdullah, 17, by driving dangerously at a traffic light junction on Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1.
The charge was framed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, punishable by five to 10 years&#8217; imprisonment and a fine of RM20,000 to RM50,000, upon conviction.
The teenager was also charged under Section 26(1) of the same law for driving without a licence, which carries a fine of RM300 to RM2,000, up to three months&#8217; imprisonment, or both, upon conviction.
