PETALING JAYA: World mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei have captured the Super 500 Australian Open title, marking their second major crown this year.
The world No 4 Malaysians were in fine form, defeating the 11th-ranked Indonesian duo of Jafar Hidayatullah-Felisha Alberta Pasaribu 21-16, 21-11 in a 41-minute match at the Sydney Olympic Park today.
With this victory, the duo ended Malaysia’s 23-year title drought in the mixed doubles category of the 36-year-old championships.
