PETALING JAYA: Police say an arrest warrant has been issued for former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law, Adlan Berhan.
Adlan and his lawyer, Mansoor Saat, are being sought by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in an investigation into a project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign worker biometric data at a ministry.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said police had been informed that the businessman is currently overseas, reported Berita Harian.
“It is well known that he is abroad. We have already issued an arrest warrant for him,” he said after inspecting preparations for the 47th Asean Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.

“The next steps require assistance from the relevant country. God willing, we will do our best to resolve the issue.”
He also said police had not received any updates from Interpol regarding the <a href="https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/12/06/interpol-still-assessing-red-notice-application-for-muhyiddins-son-in-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Red Notice</a> application submitted by MACC.
Khalid was responding to a New Straits Times report claiming that Adlan has been living a luxurious lifestyle in a Middle Eastern country after fleeing Malaysia more than two years ago.
Several photos shared with the newspaper allegedly show Adlan with prominent figures from the region, including one image featuring a portrait of a national leader of that country.
A source told the NST that Adlan frequently travels in and out of the country for trips abroad, including to Thailand, where he is said to play golf and visit shooting ranges.
Meanwhile, home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the immigration department told him that it had revoked Adlan’s passport following a request from MACC.
“I was informed by the immigration department that MACC had submitted an application to revoke the individual’s passport, and the department has since done so,” he said at a press conference at the ministry’s headquarters in Putrajaya.
