KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof has called for greater Asean unity and collaboration to accelerate the region’s clean energy transition and strengthen regional connectivity.

Speaking at a gala dinner held in conjunction with the 25th Asean Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2025 and the Asean Energy Awards ceremony, Fadillah said the region’s collective achievements demonstrate “Asean’s determination to accelerate the clean energy transition, deepen regional connectivity, and chart a pathway towards a sustainable and prosperous future”.

He said the 43rd Asean Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) had concluded with key milestones, including the endorsement of the enhanced memorandum of understanding on the Asean Power Grid, the Asean Petroleum Security Agreement, and the Asean Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2026-2030.
