They lost to world No 1 pair Liu Sheng Shu-Tan Ning at the Indonesia Open in a marathon match lasting 86 minutes.

PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M Thinaah’s hopes of their first World Tour Super 1000 title were dashed by world No 1 pair Liu Sheng Shu-Tan Ning from China in the Indonesia Open final.

World No 4 duo Pearly-Thinaah, who had been having a great run at the Istora Stadium in Jakarta, lost 25-23, 12-21, 19-21 in a marathon match lasting 86 minutes.

Despite the loss, Pearly-Thinaah can stand tall as they had shown remarkable fighting spirit in the championships, especially in the quarter-final and semi-final matches where they came from a game down to win the matches.
