PETALING JAYA: All business premises must have clean toilets and meet an overall standard of cleanliness in order to renew their operating licences under their local governments, starting from next year for those in major cities.
Housing and local government minister Nga Kor Ming said this would be implemented in phases according to the category of local governments, starting with city councils next year, municipal councils in 2027, and finally district councils the following year.
He said this was to ensure that clean toilets were a norm nationwide, particularly in view of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, Bernama reported.
