PETALING JAYA: Police have initiated an investigation into yet another case of the Jalur Gemilang being hoisted upside down, this time in Kuala Lumpur.
In a brief statement, Dang Wangi deputy police chief Nuzulan Din confirmed receiving a report on the matter at 12.07pm on Aug 25.
He said statements had been recorded from the owner of the business premises and the worker who had put up the flag.
An investigation is being held for improper use of the national flag and insulting behaviour under Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, respectively.
&#8220;The investigation is ongoing and is in the process of being completed,&#8221; he added.
This is the latest incident of national and state flags being hoisted upside down. A minimart in Pontian, Johor, was ordered to close for 30 days after it flew the Johor flag upside down on Monday.
