The Bukit Mertajam magistrates’ court postpones the case pending the appointment of a Nepali interpreter for the accused.

PETALING JAYA: The Bukit Mertajam magistrates’ court has postponed proceedings against a Nepali man accused of murdering a woman and her 11-year-old daughter in Kampung Sekolah Juru last month, as he did not understand Bahasa Melayu and required an interpreter.

The accused, Dinesh Kumar Mandal, 35, was charged with killing Sariya Che Hin, 51, and her adopted daughter Nur Afrina Alisha Abdul Rahim, between 12.30pm and 7.30pm at their home on Oct 18.

Magistrate Nurul Rasyidah Akit set Nov 26 for the appointment of a Nepali interpreter, and did not allow the accused to be released on bail, Berita Harian reported.
