Police say the victim, a saleswoman, suffered severe injuries to her nose and eyes after being struck by the suspect, aged 41.

PETALING JAYA: A man with a “Datuk Seri” title has been arrested by police in George Town, Penang, on suspicion of pistol-whipping a woman motorist on Sunday.

Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the 28-year-old victim, a saleswoman, lodged a report over the incident which allegedly took place while she was driving on Jalan Kelawei at 2.30am on Sunday.

The incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the suspect and victim, Buletin TV3 reported Rozak as saying.
