KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Kedah and Perak continues to improve with fewer number of victims being sheltered at temporary evacuation centres (PPS) as of 8pm tonight.
In Kedah, the state disaster management committee (JPBN) announced that 579 victims from 156 families were still at four PPS, down from 698 people from 198 families this morning.
“Pendang district recorded the highest number of victims with 503 people from 136 families in three PPS, while in Kota Setar, 76 people from 20 families were still taking shelter in one PPS,” a JPBN statement stated.
