KUALA LUMPUR: The Gombak Integrated Terminal (TBG) is expected to be operational next Saturday (March 15), says transport minister Loke Siew Fook.
He said the starting date would be subject to final checks conducted on the terminal next week.
&#8220;If all goes well next week, we will start with a one-week trial run of dropping off passengers at the terminal,&#8221; he said at a press conference here today.
Loke said passengers would only be picked up from the terminal during the second week of its operations.
He expressed hope that TBG would be fully operational before Hari Raya Aidilfitri to ease traffic congestion during the festive season.
TBG aims to be the main transport hub for travel to the east coast states of Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
It is said that all buses departing and arriving from the east coast will pass through TBG.
It will also be a major transport hub, connecting with bus services, LRT, and the East Coast Rail Link, increasing travel convenience for passengers from the east coast to Kuala Lumpur.
The terminal is also equipped with retail shops, restaurants, and a multipurpose hall for weddings.
