Days of deadly anti-government demonstrations demanding political and economic rights left at least six civilians and three police officers dead.

MUZAFFARABAD: Protesters in Pakistan’s Kashmir ended days of deadly anti-government demonstrations on Saturday after reaching an agreement with the government, officials said.

A telecommunications blackout imposed by the government was gradually lifted throughout the day, an AFP journalist witnessed.

The clashes left at least six civilians and three police officers dead.
