Among the 55 seats being contested by GRS includes 40 it had held prior to the state assembly’s dissolution last month.

PETALING JAYA: Hajiji Noor has expressed confidence that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will be able to win more than 40 of the 73 seats up for grabs in the Sabah polls, thereby winning a simple majority to form the state government.

The GRS chairman said his confidence was rooted in the strength of the coalition’s machinery, the cohesive cooperation between component parties, and the support received from locals on the ground.

Hajiji believes that GRS is in a good position to defend many of the seats it held prior to the state assembly’s dissolution, including Lumadan and Klias, Bernama reported.
