The fire and rescue department says no casualties have been reported.

GEORGE TOWN: A major landslide hit the Anjung Indah lookout point along Jalan Tun Sardon in Balik Pulau, here, this evening, forcing authorities to close the hill road to traffic.

In the 4.56pm incident, the fire and rescue department said firemen found soil, boulders and collapsed trees covering an area the size of a small classroom following incessant rain.

A video of the landslide showed a car narrowly missing the falling trees and earth.
