PETALING JAYA: A total of 6,892 people were detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) between 2012 and 2025, home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said.
Saifuddin said a majority of the Sosma detainees – 4,869 – were arrested for human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
“Of the number, 3,018 were charged in court and sentenced, while 549 are still standing trial.
