MCMC says the group is being used to spread information which can incite racial and religious discord that can potentially cause public unrest.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has recorded statements from two key administrators of a Facebook group dedicated to locating Hindu temples that were allegedly built illegally nationwide.

In a statement, MCMC said the group is being used to spread information which is believed to incite racial and religious discord that can potentially cause public unrest.

MCMC said the statements of the individuals were taken at its headquarters in Cyberjaya at 9am on March 27 following public complaints. A mobile phone and SIM card were confiscated as evidence.
