UDINE: Italy must beware Israel’s quality in a match that could secure a World Cup playoff berth, coach Gennaro Gattuso said today, vowing not to repeat the errors that turned last month’s meeting into a frantic end-to-end game.
With a 3-1 win in Estonia last week, Italy boosted their hopes of finishing second in Group I and will face Israel tomorrow in the northern Italian city of Udine.
Norway top the group with 18 points from six games while Gattuso’s side have 12 points with a match in hand on their rivals.
