However, congestion in Gua Musang has eased, while traffic on the North-South highway was heavy but moving steadily.

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic congestion on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway is expected to continue until tomorrow night, as people return to the federal capital after celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri in their hometowns.

A Malaysian Highway Authority spokesman said traffic remained heavy and slow-moving along the Lanchang to Lentang stretch tonight, but the KL-bound traffic towards the Gombak toll plaza was smooth and under control.

Traffic from the north heading into the Klang Valley was heavy but still moving steadily on routes such as Pendang to Sungai Petani, Permatang Pauh to Perai, Gopeng to Tapah, and Tanjung Malim to Sungai Buaya.
