PETALING JAYA: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has appointed lawyer Ahmad Redza Abdullah as its new chairman.
KTMB said it was confident that Redza, who has more than three decades of experience in handling high-profile litigation cases and providing corporate advisory, will strengthen KTMB’s governance, Bernama reported.
It added that Redza’s deep understanding of the business and regulatory ecosystem makes him a valuable asset in supporting the company’s long-term direction and strengthening stakeholder confidence.
Redza, the co-founder of law firm Messrs Shahrizat Rashid &amp; Lee, currently heads REC (Redza Eleena Chong) Legal as its managing partner.
KTMB said his leadership at the firm &#8211; which is recognised for its expertise in commercial and corporate litigation &#8211; reflects his ability to bring decisiveness, transparency and integrity to KTMB’s administration.
“Throughout his career, Redza has guided and represented local and international companies on various key issues involving corporate restructuring, shareholder disputes, as well as litigation in strategic sectors, such as construction and banking,” it said.
“KTMB is confident that under the strategic leadership of Redza as chairman, and with the support of our management and stakeholders, the company is on the right track toward a significant phase of growth driven by innovation, digitalisation, and service excellence,” it said.
Meanwhile, KTMB chief technical officer Ahmad Nizam Amin will serve as acting group CEO following the completion of Rani Hisham Samsudin’s term.
