PUTRAJAYA: The education ministry is investigating claims that Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination papers have been leaked and are being sold.
Education director-general Azam Ahmad said although no official report had been presented, the ministry was aware of the allegations which have gone viral.
&#8220;This is being acted on by the examination board, and I am certain they have procedures,&#8221; he told a media conference after visiting SMK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) here today.
This follows the circulation of screenshots, purportedly of several parties offering to sell allegedly leaked SPM questions for about RM499 per subject, with some even guaranteeing a refund if students do not achieve outstanding results.
Azam sought to assure Malaysians that the SPM exam papers were safeguarded, with all examination security procedures followed, including in flood-hit states.
A total of 413,372 candidates are sitting for this year&#8217;s SPM, which began today with the Bahasa Melayu paper.
