PETALING JAYA: Two Malaysian mixed doubles pairs advanced to the second round of the Korea Open today, while another fell at the first hurdle.

World No 8 Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai got off to a flying start, taking just 33 minutes to defeat Indonesia’s Adam Maulana-Indah Cahya Sari Jamil 21-9, 22-20.

They will next face China’s Gao Jia Xuan-Wu Meng Ying, a lower-ranked pair who have shown strong form this season.
