PETALING JAYA: Muda is making plans to contest up to 10 state assembly seats at the coming Sabah elections.
The party’s Sabah chief, Faezrah Rizalman, said they will focus on urban seats, Sinar Harian reported.
“In the past, we contested in rural seats, so this time round we will focus on more developed areas,” she was quoted as saying.
In the 2022 general election, Muda&#8217;s sole candidate, Shahrizal Denci, was defeated in a six-cornered contest in the Kota Marudu parliamentary seat, securing only 3,225 votes.
Faezrah said that Muda, as a small party, would have to be creative when campaigning for the polls.
“We only have around 5,000 members, so we will be campaigning online,” she said.
Sabah state speaker Kadzim Yahya recently said the term of the current state assembly expires on Nov 11 and that an election must be held within 60 days of dissolution.
However, there has been talk that the elections would be held in July or August.
