KUALA LUMPUR: An opposition MP was told not to take a more hardline stance than Hamas itself after expressing anger at the government’s invitation for US president Donald Trump to attend the Asean Summit this month.
Deputy foreign minister Mohamad Alamin said Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) should not be “more Hamas than Hamas”.
Wan Fayhsal had questioned the government’s decision to invite Trump to the Asean Summit, calling him a “war criminal” who had allowed “a genocide in Gaza”.
