The US secretary of state urges partners to warn the group’s leaders they are ‘playing with fire’.

JERUSALEM: Top US diplomat Marco Rubio said on Sunday that Hamas revealed its “sick depravity” by holding hostages and the bodies of dead captives in Gaza, adding the group’s leaders were “playing with fire”.

“The fact that these terrorists continue to hold hostages and even dead bodies reflects their sick depravity. I call on our partners to help impress upon Hamas’ leaders that they are playing with fire,” Rubio said in a statement.

The US secretary of state went on to urge the immediate return of all hostages held in the Palestinian territory.
