The subsidy covers travel costs for trips home for festive season visits. They will also receive a one-off RM300 cash aid.

PETALING JAYA: Some 35,000 college and university students from Sabah stand to benefit from a flight subsidy scheme to cover the travel costs for them to return home during festive occasions.

Papar MP Armizan Mohd Ali, who is also minister of domestic trade and cost of living, said the number was a projection based on the success of the programme last year.

“The initiative was introduced by the state government in 2024 after students complained about the high cost of home visits during festive seasons.
