PETALING JAYA: An Umno vice-president has dismissed M Saravanan’s remarks as his personal opinion after the MIC deputy president hinted that the party may quit Barisan Nasional.
Johari Ghani said such remarks, especially those made in anger or frustration, should not be viewed as the party’s stance, Berita Harian reported.
“Did he say it, or did his party say it? He can’t decide for the party. If it’s a decision made by the party, that’s a different matter,” Johari was quoted as saying. “Sometimes people speak out of anger. We should let things calm down first. Don’t complicate matters.”
