PETALING JAYA: Police fired several gunshots in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, this afternoon as they rescued a 26-year-old man who had been abducted in Johor early this morning.
Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said CCTV footage showed the victim being abducted in front of a nightclub at Taman Nusa Bestari in Iskandar Puteri at 5.47am. The victim could be seen being hauled into a car by a group of men.
At about 2.30pm today, several policemen cornered a Perodua Aruz at Jalan Cengkeh, Taman Cheras, and ordered the men inside to leave the vehicle. They attempted to escape by repeatedly ramming the police vehicles, prompting the cops to fire several shots at the tires of the Aruz.
