The federal territories minister says some demand gadgets, cash or discounts from developers and even threaten protests to gain personal benefits.

PETALING JAYA: Federal territories minister Hannah Yeoh has warned residents against abusing public consultation sessions conducted by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) by making personal demands from developers.

Yeoh said she had received information that some individuals were using engagement sessions on proposed developments in their neighbourhoods to seek personal benefits.

“The modus operandi involves requests for discounts on property units, gadgets, cash, vouchers, flight tickets, renovation works and new curtains. The list goes on.
