Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supisara Paewsamphran foil the duo’s bid to become the first Malaysians to win a title at the tournament in its 20-year history.

PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei failed to create history at the China Masters after falling to Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supisara Paewsamphran in the final today.

The world champions, who were hoping to win Malaysia’s first ever title at the China Masters, lost in straight games, 8-21, 17-21,  to the Thais, who have been playing together in the mixed-doubles category for less than a year.

The match lasted just 34 minutes at the Shenzhen Arena.
