PETALING JAYA: The trailer driver involved in the crash near Kluang, Johor, on Thursday that killed five people had a record for four offences, including two with the police, says road transport department (JPJ) director-general Aedy Ramly.
Aedy said JPJ records show the driver committed technical offences between 2017 and 2022, which have since been resolved.
“They comprise two offences for failing to comply with periodic inspection notices, as well as violations for carrying an unsecured load, and transporting cargo protruding beyond the vehicle’s body,” Bernama quoted him as saying at a press conference at the Amanjaya Terminal in Ipoh, Perak, last night.
