KUALA LUMPUR: A war of words erupted in the Dewan Rakyat today after law and institutional reform minister Azalina Othman Said accused Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu) of doing little to split the roles of the attorney-general and public prosecutor during his time as law minister.
Azalina said that unlike the previous administration led by Muhyiddin Yassin (PN-Pagoh), the unity government had shown its commitment to implementing the reform and gone beyond making empty promises.
“The Madani government is not a government that only spews rhetoric, unlike when (Takiyuddin) was law minister in 2020, talking about separating the (AG and PP’s) roles but not doing anything.
