<p>PETALING JAYA: Sequels seem to be the flavour of the season, and November&#8217;s movie calendar proves it. Whether it’s iconic monsters, magical heists, or talking animals, audiences can expect a string of big-screen comebacks.</p>
<p>Here’s a look at what’s hitting cinemas this month.</p>
<p><strong>1. ‘Predator: Badlands’ (Nov 6)</strong></p>
<p>The hunters become the hunted as director Dan Trachtenberg ditches humans entirely this time around. &#8220;Predator: Badlands&#8221; follows Dek, an exiled Yautja warrior, who crash-lands on a hostile world and reluctantly teams up with Thia, a rogue android, to fend off other Predators.</p>
<p>It’s the franchise’s first PG-13 outing, focusing more on the alien culture than sheer carnage. Fans are curious to see how Trachtenberg expands the Predator lore, and whether less gore means more grit.</p>

<p><strong>2. ‘The Running Man’ (Nov 6)</strong></p>
<p>Edgar Wright retools the 1987 cult classic with Glen Powell as the new Ben Richards, backed by a sharp cast including Josh Brolin and Colman Domingo.</p>
<p>The makers have promised a darker, more faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s dystopian novel &#8211; a deadly reality‑TV competition where convicts are hunted for sport.</p>
<p>Wright’s trademark kinetic style and satire are expected to modernise the spectacle, and Schwarzenegger reportedly drops in for a cheeky cameo.</p>

<p><strong>3. ‘Banduan’ (Nov 6)</strong></p>
<p>Malaysia gets a high-octane night-time thriller with this Malay remake of the celebrated Tamil hit “Kaithi”.</p>
<p>Aaron Aziz takes the lead as an ex-convict who, after years behind bars, is granted a night of freedom to finally see his daughter. But what should be a happy reunion quickly spirals into chaos when he’s roped into helping the police fend off a massive drug syndicate.</p>
<p>Directed by Kroll Azry, the film promises tense chases through dark city streets, brutal hand-to-hand combat, and a raw emotional core that mirrors the original’s pulse-pounding intensity.</p>

<p><strong>4. ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ (Nov 13)</strong></p>
<p>The Four Horsemen are back, and this time they&#8217;re not performing solo! Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco team up with a troupe of younger magicians, including Justice Smith and Ariana Greenblatt, to pull off an even bigger diamond heist.</p>
<p>Ruben Fleischer directs, and Rosamund Pike arrives as a glamorous, dangerous new rival who ups the stakes. Expect globe-trotting set-pieces, layered illusions and the series’ usual blend of trickery and spectacle.</p>

<p><strong>5. ‘Kumki 2’ (Nov 14)</strong></p>
<p>The elephants are back in “Kumki 2”, a follow-up to Prabhu Solomon’s 2012 release, which was both a commercial and critical success. Newcomer Mathiyazhagan stars as Anbu, a young boy, with Arjun Das and Shrita Rao in supporting roles.</p>
<p>Unlike the romantic elements of the original, “Kumki 2” is being promoted as a family-friendly, adventure-drama focusing on the heartwarming bond between a lad and an elephant calf.</p>

<p><strong>6. ‘Wicked: For Good’ (Nov 20)</strong></p>
<p>The curtain falls on Universal’s two-part film adaptation of the Broadway phenomenon, with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande reprising Elphaba and Glinda.</p>
<p>Director Jon M Chu split the musical into two films to preserve the stage moments fans adore. Elphaba is now fighting to save Oz’s talking animals, while Glinda is a celebrated public leader &#8211; but the arrival of Dorothy Gale from Kansas causes their world to change.</p>
<p>Expect show-stopping numbers translated into cinematic spectacle, and the emotional payoff of the song “For Good&#8221;. Fans are eagerly awaiting the epic finale &#8211; and maybe even a surprise cameo from Idina Menzel, who first played Elphaba on stage.</p>

<p>The city’s getting wild again in “Zootopia 2”, as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde chase down a slippery new threat &#8211; a reptilian villain wreaking havoc across their world.</p>
<p>The Oscar-winning original set the tone for smart, funny storytelling, and this sequel dives deeper into Zootopia’s unexplored districts with even higher stakes.</p>
<p>With Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman reprising their roles &#8211; and Idris Elba joining in the fun &#8211; it looks like Disney’s dynamic duo are back to prove lightning can strike twice &#8211; even with bunny ears and a fox tail!</p>
