PETALING JAYA: Six people have been appointed to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) advisory board for a three-year term starting July 15.
In a statement, MACC said their appointments were made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the prime minister.
The appointees include Yusof Ismail, the former director-general of the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit, and Akhbar Satar, who is Malaysian Association of Certified Fraud Examiners president.
Akhbar is also a former president of Transparency International Malaysia.
Also appointed were Zainal Azman Abu Seman, a former public services department deputy director-general; Othman Semail, a former Treasury deputy secretary-general; and Narimah Awin, chairman of the National Population and Family Development Board.
The final appointee is Kassim Mohamed, who is also vice-chancellor of Enforcement, Leadership and Management University.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki handed over their letters of appointment at the commission’s headquarters today.
In March, it was reported that Salim Fateh Din had been appointed as chairman of the board for a three-year period, effective Feb 2.
Salim is also chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, a position he has held since March 2023.
