Malaysia’s world No 5 pair hold off Danish giant-killers to win the Thailand Open men’s doubles title.

PETALING JAYA: Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik reached a significant milestone in their badminton careers by winning the men’s doubles title at the Thailand Open today.

The reigning Asian champions did it in style by showcasing their tactical maturity to defeat Denmark’s surprise package William Kryger Boe-Christian Faust Kjaer 20-22, 21-17, 21-12 in an energy-sapping match that lasted 60 minutes.

This victory marks the first time world No 5 pair Aaron-Wooi Yik have won two titles in a year, following their earlier success at the Badminton Asia Championships held in Zhejiang, China, in March.
