WOLVERHAMPTON: Wolverhampton Wanderers sacked manager Vitor Pereira on Sunday, ending his tenure after a catastrophic start to the Premier League season that has left the club winless and marooned at the foot of the table.
The Portuguese coach’s fate was sealed following Saturday’s humiliating 3-0 defeat at Fulham, a result that sparked fury among travelling supporters who directed their anger at both Pereira and the club’s Chinese owners.
The timing also proved particularly brutal given that Pereira had signed a contract extension less than two months earlier.
