PUTRAJAYA: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) today recommended disciplinary action against two officers from the health ministry&#8217;s private medical practice control section following weaknesses in the management of feedback and delays in completing an investigation paper.
The commission said it had received complaints about the officers in Putrajaya and Melaka, who allegedly failed to respond to an application for the release of seized items.
The investigation was carried out under Subsection 27(4) of the EAIC Act 2009.
&#8220;The investigation found that the officer in Putrajaya failed to provide any feedback on the application for the release of seized items submitted by the complainant,&#8221; it said.
&#8220;It also found delays by the investigating officer from Melaka in completing the investigation paper in accordance with the standard operating procedure for investigating cases involving healthcare facilities and services.&#8221;
In a statement, EAIC said the delays disrupted the investigation process and that as a result, the case took an unreasonably long time to conclude.
The commission&#8217;s recommendation for disciplinary action against the officers was made under Regulation 38 of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993, for inefficiency or lack of effort as provided for under Regulation 4(2)(e).
