Azman Wahab’s conviction for the 2016 murders of his brother and aunt is upheld after the Federal Court rejects his application to adduce fresh evidence.

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court has affirmed an unemployed man’s sentence to a 35-year jail term and 24 strokes of the rotan for the murders of his younger brother and aunt nine years ago.

A three-member bench chaired by Justice Nordin Hassan maintained Azman Wahab’s conviction and sentence after his court-appointed counsel’s application to adduce fresh evidence was disallowed.

Lawyer Ai Cha Ran had asked for the bench to consider three medical reports on Azman’s mental state at the time he committed the crimes.
