PETALING JAYA: Reigning world mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei etched their names into Malaysian badminton history today by clinching the mixed doubles crown at the Indonesia Masters.
The world No 4 pair became the first Malaysians to lift the mixed doubles title since the tournament began in 2010, after they overcame world No 10 pair Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje of Denmark.
They won 15-21, 21-17, 21-11 in 56 minutes at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, earning them US$39,500 (RM158,256) in prize money at the World Tour Super 500 tournament.
